A Formula for a Great Show

A teaching friend introduced me to this web article and it makes soooo much sense. In a nutshell it sort of says, "hit 'em with a 2x4 to get their attention, and then make your point."

The advice works not only for teaching, but for a memorable show as well. Okay, we shouldn't hit our audience members with anything more than a foam rubber bat (and we probably should not hit our students at all) but you'll see the point. (Don't worry, I retired from teaching.)
